Hungarian tennis is going through a mild golden patch, with some very impressive young talent on the roster. However, among their most impressive young players is 20-year-old Fanny Stollar. The young Hungarian has already made a name for herself, reaching a career high singles ranking of 114th and maintaining an impressive run of results at ITF level. In her singles career, she has won one of her two title wins, when she defeated Georgia Craciun in the ITF Galati, Romania.
In 2018, she has mostly seen success at Doubles level, with a very impressive range of results transforming her profile across Eastern Europe and beyond. She defeated Kirsten Flipkens and Johanna Larsson 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 in a pulsating Final alongside Georgina Garcia Perez to win the Hungarian Open.
The duo reached another final, too, losing out to Anna Blinkova and Raluca Olaru in an excellent Morocco Open Final. Growing all the time and showing a maturity far beyond her years, there is nothing to say that the hugely impressive Stollar cannot become of the true ones to watch of her age group.
For one so young, she’s already achieved so much – the sky really is the limit here.
