Argentinian tennis is in long need of a new hero, and one name that stands out from the crowd is that of Marco Trungelliti. While a little too senior to be referred to as a youth prospect, the 29-year-old looks more than capable of making the right kind of impression on the game. His highest ranking so far came in 2016, when he reached as high as 127th on the ATP listing.
A very impressive performer overall, he’s managed to reach six finals at ATP Challenger level, winning one of them – in April 2018, against Simone Bolelli. The impressive Argentine has also played in finals against the likes of Jan Satral, Gonzalo Lama and Pablo Andujar – while the results might not match his performances, he’s very much a player to keep an eye on.
His most impressive performances at Grand Slam level have come in France, where he has reached the Second Round on three occasions: 2016, 2017 and 2018. Though progress further than this is yet to be bestowed upon him, it’s easy to see why so many people see Trungelliti as a tennis player worth watching: effort and determination is poured into every shot and rally.
